Halloween Costume Drive
September - October 2010
For most children’s shelters and other
Jersey Cares project partners, Halloween
costumes do not make the list of essentials
in the budget. Therefore, Jersey Cares helps
to offset costume costs by collecting new
and gently used costumes from our generous
volunteers. Every October, this enables
Jersey Cares to help children living in New
Jersey’s shelters to have a Happy Halloween.

School Supply Drive -
August 2010
Many of New Jersey's children are in need of
school supplies for the upcoming school
year. Jersey Cares works with multiple
schools, children's shelters and community
centers who provide services to children in
need to ensure they have the necessary tools
to have a successful school year. Jersey
Cares will begin accepting items Monday,
August 2. Please send your items to the
Jersey Cares office before Friday,
September 3.
Thanks so much to all of our generous
donors who made this program so successful!

The Jersey Cares Annual Coat Drive
November-December 2010
Every fall, The
Jersey Cares Coat Drive collects and distributes over 40,000
“gently used” winter coats to at-risk men, women, children
and infants. Over the past ten years, Jersey Cares has
collected, sorted and distributed thousands of winter coats
to New Jersey residents in need through this program.
Companies, churches, police stations, schools and other
organizations collect coats throughout the drive. Coats are
then delivered by a collection site representative to a
central location. Volunteers then sort the donated coats and bag them for pick-up. Agency
recipients schedule their pick-up and
distribute the coats to those in need.

Paint and
Painting Supplies
Throughout the
year, Jersey Cares collects paint and painting supplies to
offset the costs of painting projects. Jersey Cares accepts
paint (all colors under 3 years old), mixing cups, buckets,
drop cloths, rags, building paper, edgers, masking tape and
painter’s tape, trash bags and latex gloves. If you have a
large donation, pick up can be arranged. Please contact
Jonathan@jerseycares.org

donation. Learn More
First Night
Kit Program
Throughout the year, we manage projects
where volunteers assemble kits for domestic violence
shelters, transitional housing facilities, runaway safe
havens, foster homes and other agencies with transitional
populations in need of hygiene items on the "first night" of
their stay. Once we receive a certain number of items,
projects are scheduled in our calendar to assemble the kits
and we donate them to participating agencies in need.
