Pincus Employees Take Students from Youth Consultation
Services' Therapeutic Learning Center to Liberty Science
Center
Volunteers from
Warburg Pincus brought nearly twenty pre-school students to
Liberty Science Center. Volunteers helped the kids learn
about the exhibits, enjoyed lunch together and played
outside before ending the day. The kids had an amazing time
- thanks so much to Warburg Pincus employees!
NBA
Volunteers Assemble New Cubbies at Morristown Neighborhood
House
Volunteers from
the NBA's Secaucus Office traveled to Morristown to build
some new cubbies, playhouses and bookshelves for their after
school programs. Volunteers also helped out with some yard
work and learned about the programs of the agency. Thanks so
much to the NBA volunteers!
Lehman
Brothers Interns Revitalize Greater Newark Charter School
Interns from the Lehman Brothers
Summer Program traveled to Newark, NJ to paint murals, classrooms, hallways,
offices and the auditorium of Greater Newark Charter School. It was a great
day and the interns finished painting the entire school just in time for new
year to begin. Great job Lehman Brothers interns!
BlackRock Interns Paint
Isaiah House in East Orange
Volunteers from the Summer
Intern Program at BlackRock gathered at Isaiah House in East
Orange on Wednesday, July 2nd to provide the shelter with a
new coat of paint. Volunteers painted nearly twenty resident
rooms, the community room, conference room, laundry room,
multiple hallways and stairwells. They also created new
picture frames for the kids to enjoy. Thanks so much to the
BlackRock interns for beautifying Isaiah House.
National
Basketball Association Volunteers Revitalize Connors
Elementary School
On Friday, June 27th,
hundreds of the National Basketball Association's (NBA) New
Jersey employees traveled to Connors Elementary School in
Hoboken, NJ for a complete makeover. Volunteers painted
every hallway and stairwell in the building in addition to
the welcome area and the gymnasium. They also spruced up the
hallways with colorful murals and built twenty new
bookshelves for the library. Great job NBA!

PricewaterhouseCoopers Visit Seven Agencies in Newark for their Annual Day
of Service
On
Tuesday, June 24, over 400 employee volunteers from
PricewaterhouseCoopers volunteered their time at Greater
Newark Charter School, FOCUS Hispanic Community for
Development, Tri-City Peoples Corporation, West Side Park,
West Side Park Community Center, Broadway House and Youth
Consultation Services' Youth in Action Program.
Volunteers
participated in a variety of different opportunities at each
agency. They worked with adult clients on financial literacy
and job readiness, spent time making arts and crafts with
seniors, built new playhouses and bookshelves, assembled
camping, birthday and first night kits, painted classrooms
and hallway murals, planted vegetable and flower gardens and
designed new murals on ceiling tiles for palliative care
patients. Volunteers also built new benches, picnic tables
and painted outdoor line games.
Thanks so
much to the volunteers of PricewaterhouseCoopers for making
such an amazing impact on so many different agencies
throughout the city of Newark.

MetLife Assembles New
Bicycles
On Friday, June 20, employees
participating in a conference from MetLife took a break from
their meetings in Somerset, NJ to assemble brand new
bicycles for a select group of graduating students from
Greater Newark Charter School. The students were absolutely
overjoyed to learn they were the recipients of new bikes as
part of their graduation. Thanks so much to the bicycle
builders from MetLife!
