Volunteer Leadership
Project Coordinators
Jersey Cares' scope of service depends upon the generosity and leadership of our volunteers. Jersey Cares is fortunate to have a strong core of committed members that work to serve as ambassadors for our many projects. Project Coordinators (PCs) are trained on the project's requirements and serve as the liaison to the agency. The Project Coordinator is responsible for confirming an individual's participation, sending out directions to the project, greeting the volunteer and instructing them about the service that is needed. Project Coordinators are instrumental in recruitment and tracking for our various projects. Project Coordinators are required to complete PC orientation and training.
Program and Event Committee Volunteers
Jersey Cares hosts annual fundraising and service events that require tremendous amounts of time and energy. Jersey Cares relies upon volunteers to serve on our various program and event committees. These programs and events include: Jersey Cares Day, The Jersey Cares Coat Drive, "A Taste for Volunteering" Wine Tasting.
Jersey Cares History
Jersey Cares was founded in 1993 by a small group of young, motivated leaders determined to find an easy way for people with hectic lives to volunteer in New Jersey. Jersey Cares is based on the
Hands on Network model of service which operates successfully in
many other cities including New York, Washington, D.C., San Francisco, Atlanta, Philadelphia and Chicago.
