Philadelphia Community Center Revitalization
Dates: 9/10/2016 - 9/10/2016
The West Philadelphia Community Center provides programs and services to all members of the community, from pre-K to senior citizens. For more than 75 years the center has empowered Philadelphia children and youth to become positive citizens, decision-makers and leaders by providing them, their families and their elders with high quality, community-based programs and services that promote character building, educational achievement, healthy lifestyles and teamwork.
This indoor and outdoor project offers volunteers several ways to improve the community center building, including painting (in Headstart classrooms, teen rooms and boys and girls locker rooms), creating hopscotch mats, assembling snack bags and building a shed, raised garden beds and picnic tables.
Volunteer arrival and check-in begins at 8:45am with an orientation and kick-off starting at 9:10am.
