Opportunity Details

Earth Keepers in Morris County

Join a passionate team of volunteers who care about the environment and our local parks. We will be continuing on with a section of forest restoration where our previous volunteer event left off. We will provide all the tools necessary for cutting and sawing woody invasive species like multiflora rose, Japanese barberry, and aralia. Forest restoration is hard work, but very rewarding. Nothing beats enjoying nature and being part of our stewardship community! Volunteers will enjoy the outdoors while:

  • removing invasive species

  • planting native plants

  • creating and maintaining restoration projects

  • maintaining trails when needed

The specific task will change monthly but will include one or all of the options noted above.

Volunteers will work in forested areas that will sometimes require a 10-15 minute hike to reach.

Bring work gloves; wear sturdy, closed-toed footwear suitable for the weather; supply water and a snack for yourself.

NEED-TO-KNOW:
