Conversations to Inspire the Next Generation

Conversations to Inspire the Next Generation is a new initiative that was developed to create and foster opportunities for our Upward Bound Scholars to meet individuals who come from diverse areas in either professional careers and/or those achieving degrees in higher education (baccalaureate and post-baccalaureate). We highly recommended this volunteer service for folks whom know how to “talk with” high school students as opposed to those who tend to “speak-to” students, the activity will center around lunch and a conversation. You will sit with our enthusiastic and energetic Upward Bound Scholars and share your story.

The Rutgers University – Newark, Upward Bound Program is a USDOE grant-funded, college preparatory program that serves highly motivated, first –generation, college bound high school students from the City of East Orange. The program’s goal is to provide fundamental support to participants in their preparation for success in secondary and post-secondary education. Scholars of the program participate in a year-long program (Saturdays during the academic year and six-weeks during the summer).
