As the world is watching the devastation unfold in Houston we know that many of you are looking for ways to help. New Jerseyans, especially, know the devastating effects of hurricanes and the long road ahead for recovery and rebuilding. This disaster is still in the rescue phase, but agencies are gearing up for a long recovery process.
We also know that for many this is personal and you are looking to make an impact beyond a donation. We are in touch with organizations on the ground in Texas and, in this early stage, we have ways you can help with more to follow.
How You Can Help
  • Head over to our Amazon Wish List to support the hundreds of animals arriving in New Jersey this week from storm ravaged Houston shelters. We have curated a custom list from agencies that will be accepting these animals and as the needs evolve and change we will continue to update and modify the list.
  • For our corporate partners: please get in touch with your corporate service contact or Michelle Dee (michelle@jerseycares.org).  We are prepared to help you help those conducting rescue and recovery operations as well as those in shelter situations.

  • For those wanting to make a financial contribution, check out Help NJ Now .  Help NJ Now is a website conceived in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy. Tens of thousands of individuals reached out to help, but there was no consolidated resource to capture all of the ways people could assist. This page was designed to connect resources with up to date community needs in order to best respond to disasters. This site was built and is maintained by a partnership between New Jersey Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster (NJVOAD), the New Jersey Office of Emergency Management (NJOEM) and the Governor’s Office of Volunteerism.
  • Stay tuned and be patient.  It can take a while for needs to be assessed, but we are continuing to gather resources and information.  As we learn more we will be in touch with ways New Jersey can send its love to Houston.
