Plant It Forward in New Brunswick

Help maintain local garden space used to provide food for the New Brunswick community and educate local residents on urban agricultural practices! Compost turning, sheet mulching, weeding, harvesting, creation of community art pieces is just some of the tasks that need your assistance. Located in the heart of Downtown New Brunswick, the Promise garden hosts performances, educational workshops, and programs that teach New Brunswick Elementary School students about growing and harvesting healthy fruits and vegetables.
Need-To-Know

  • Volunteers will receive a brief orientation upon arrival
  • Volunteers should wear clothes they don’t mind getting dirty
  • Volunteers should wear closed toed shoes
  • Being flexible is a plus as tasks may change based on necessity
  • Sunblock, water, and stacks are encouraged for volunteers to bring

Waivers: All projects have non-negotiable age restrictions that are noted on the upper right side of each project description. If you meet the age restriction but are under 18, please have a parent or legal guardian complete the required youth waiver and bring with you to the project. Adults attending the project can expedite the registration process by printing the adult waiver in advance, sign and bring with you.
