Call Bank with Poison Control in Newark
NJ Poison Control has a need for volunteers, with some healthcare experience, to assist with answering hotline and assist in the overflow of COVID-19 phone calls. Volunteers will answer the NJ Poison Control general phone line and direct callers to appropriate department and/or agency. For Example #1: a caller calls in about COVID-19 symptoms... this is not a call relating to poisoning, so they are referred to the appropriate agency. Example #2: An Emergency Room calls poison control and advises a child ingested bleach and Tylenol. That call would be routed to a doctor at Poison Control. You will be secured in an office type of environment within University Hospital, and Poison Control will provide all necessary "on the job training." It is a safe and enclosed environment, and social distancing will be followed. Flexible Shifts: 4-8 hours in length, between 12pm and 12am.
