Season of Service - Summer Program

Project Coordinators (PC's) play a vital role in leading Jersey Cares volunteer opportunities. These community engaged leaders provide organization and leadership to volunteers and partner agencies. They encourage others to "Be the Change" and provide the direction necessary to further develop community partnerships and ensure success with future programs. 

Key Project Coordinator Responsibilities:
 
  • Learning about the partner agency, the impact area and the Jersey Cares volunteer opportunity.
  • Coordinating activities with Jersey Cares staff.
  • Leading and managing volunteers signed up for the volunteer opportunity.
  • Providing direction necessary to complete program activities at the volunteer opportunity site. 
  • Communication with volunteers, the agency, and Jersey Cares staff after the project about the success and/or challenges.
  • Working with Jersey Cares staff, other PC's, volunteers and partner agencies to further develop relationships and ensure success on future projects.
  • Maintaining volunteer information in the Jersey Cares online database.

Position Requirements and Expectations

  • Demonstrated ability to work with and lead teams.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills.
  • Access to Internet on a regular basis.
  • Excellent leadership and effective interpersonal and communication skills.
  • You must be able to participate in a Jersey Cares Project Coordinator orientation session.
  • You must be tech savvy and be familiar with navigating the Jersey Cares website. We will provide additional training on how to use the administrative site.
  • Attend the Mid-Term and Closing Session.
  • Track all information in the administrative website related to the opportunity. 

Position Commitment

  • 12 weeks beginning May 26, 2015 and ending August 26, 2015.
  • You must lead a minimum of 10 volunteer opportunities before the closing session.
  • Participate in an Orientation Session.
  • Attend the Mid-Term Session on July 11, 2015.
  • Attend the Closing Session on August 15, 2015.

All projects have non-negotiable age restrictions that are noted on the upper right side of each project description. If you meet the age restriction but are under 18, please have a parent or legal guardian complete the required youth waiver to bring with you to the project.
