September 11th National

Day of Service and Remembrance

Saturday, September 8, 2018

Jersey Cares presents its annual September 11th National Day of Service and Remembrance, a day of “unity, empathy and service as an enduring and positive tribute to those lost and injured.” On Saturday, September 8, 2018 Jersey Cares volunteers will come together to strengthen a community deeply impacted by the events of September 11th. 525 volunteers will have the opportunity to revitalize a historically underserved high school in Jersey City that stood witness to the tragic events of the day. An additional 50 volunteers will venture to Liberty State park to maintain the landscape while experiencing breathtaking views of the harbor, Lady Liberty, and Ellis Island. A final 15 volunteers will help with the set up, registration, and clean up at the Empty Sky 9/11 Memorial 5K and Remembrance Walk to honor the 749 victims from New Jersey. Join Jersey Cares and your neighbors as we dedicate a day of service to that which makes us great – each other.
