The Sharpe James/Kenneth A. Gibson Recreation and Aquatic Center is part of the Division of Recreation and Cultural Affairs of Newark. It provides comprehensive recreational and cultural activities for the citizens of Newark. Recreation strives to be the leaders in promoting community health and well-being through fun, higher learning, progressive and memorable parks, and recreation experiences and activities for everyone. Volunteers are needed at the recreation center to clean around the ice rink, perform general painting, and other pending projects.
