Brick City Block Party in Newark

Volunteers will support general operations of this fun and festive community block party. Join Us!

Activities are separated by the following shifts, which include:

• 2:00-5:00PM – Park and neighborhood cleanup 
• Event Bike Clinic set up, i.e., table and chair organization 
• 5:00-8:00PM – Bike Clinic setup and event cleanup 

Volunteers will be working alongside the community, children, parents, and residents. We recommend you wear comfortable clothing, i.e., jeans, sneakers, etc. 
When neighbors know one another, they know who belongs on the street and are more likely to respond to suspicious activity. One examination of the effects of family ties shows that respondents who know more families in their neighborhoods are more likely to engage in neighborhood improvement activities; block parties facilitate the creation of those relationships. Help build a more resilient community today.

Waivers: All projects have non-negotiable age restrictions that are noted on the upper right side of each project description. If you meet the age restriction but are under 18, please have a parent or legal guardian complete the required youth waiver and bring with you to the project. Adults attending the project can expedite the registration process by printing the adult waiver in advance, sign and bring with you.
