Lifestyle and Literacy - Tutoring Program
Plainfield Public Library has been working with libraries across the state to build or expand their adult literacy services (including digital literacy, ESL, GED). The Libraries are seeking volunteer tutors to place in these libraries to assist their patrons with these services. The services could be one on one or they could be small classes. Tutor training will be provided by Plainfield Public Library and materials will be provided by the participating libraries.
Volunteers will be helping other adults in their own communities. This work is vital for members of the communities since these skills are essential for finding jobs. Volunteers will provide ongoing feedback on services to help build a better program overall.
