Marketplace in Jersey City - Monthly Delivery Day

Marketplace in Jersey City is a project dedicated to battling hunger and poverty in our community through an emergency food pantry. This project provides a meaningful volunteer experience in a positive, safe environment that is perfect for individuals, families, and groups of almost any size.

Volunteer today and make a measurable difference in the lives of many by, helping sort and organize the food pantry, and package the items for distribution to needy families. On Friday, volunteers do prep work for Saturday which is distribution day. 


Volunteer tasks may include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Setting up for distribution. This will involve setting up tables, preparing food stations and more.

  • Bagging perishables for community members. Fresh produce and canned goods are distributed to the members of the community.

  • Cleaning up the food stations and putting a way tables and/or tents. This opportunity my require some lifting.  

Need-To-Know:

  • Please note: The timing of this opportunity has been determined by Jersey Cares and Triangle Park Community Center based on the delivery window provided by the food supplier. There is potential the delivery may arrive before or after the opportunity begins resulting in a delayed program start or a shortened volunteer experience. We thank you for your patience and understanding.

Waivers: All projects have non-negotiable age restrictions that are noted on the upper right side of each project description. If you meet the age restriction but are under 18, please have a parent or legal guardian complete the required youth waiver and bring with you to the project. Adults attending the project can expedite the registration process by printing the adult waiver in advance, sign and bring with you.
