Organization Profile

The Boys & Girls Club of Providence

The Boys and Girls Club of Providence has a 148 year history of providing a safe space and structured programming for the city’s youth to play, grow, and learn. Today, 82% of members live under the poverty line. To assure them a bright future, The Boys and Girls Club works to break the cycle of poverty. That means addressing the structural issues that hold kids back, including lack of access to educational programming, and lack of exposure to critical opportunities that develop their skills, talents, and passions. The South Side Boys and Girls Club opened in 1959, and currently serves children aged 5 – 18.
