The Boys & Girls Clubs of Philadelphia understands that our youth need access to a safe, supportive learning environment even when schools cannot open their doors. In response to the school closures resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic, BGCP is operating 15 Access Centers to support youth during the virtual school day. Our Access Center follow all COVID-19 safety guidelines including sanitation practices, social distancing, and mask wearing. All Access Centers are equipped with WiFi Access, and caring professional youth development staff. Youth attending Access Centers will receive free breakfast, lunch, and snack daily, and individual supply kits. In addition to providing support for virtual learning, our Access Centers engage youth in Literacy and STEM Enrichment, and recreational programs to support academic, social, and emotional health during this difficult time. Boys & Girls Clubs of Philadelphia has served our city’s youth since 1887. Our Germantown, Wissahickon, and Nicetown units are three of the original clubs that were part of the founding of the Boys & Girls Clubs of America more than 100 years ago. While much has changed since we first began, one thing remains constant: GREAT FUTURES START HERE.
