Since 1977 Newark Emergency Services for Families (NESF) has provided a safety net for the citizens of Newark and Greater Essex County when they encounter economic difficulties due to emergency situations or due to the effects of poverty. NESF offers families clothes, food, shelter, etc. and serves a diverse clientele. Last year NESF served more than 60,000 families with emergency services. Volunteers are needed for the "Pantry Project". As a result of a community clothing drive there are many items that need to be sorted in order to be distributed to those in need. Please contact NESF for more information.
