PS 17 - Joseph H. Brensinger School

Joseph H. Brensinger, P.S. 17 is an elementary school located in an urban neighborhood of great cultural diversity, servicing students who speak more than 14 different languages. The school provides “state of the art” opportunities in the fields of Science, Art, Library-Media, Family and Consumer Science, Music and Physical Education. P.S. 17 has an enrollment of 1,159 students in pre-K through Grade 8 and provides an atmosphere in which students, parents and staff members work together to achieve cooperation, academic excellence and improved self-esteem. The percentage of students eligible for free or reduced lunch is 89%.
