Organization Profile

HUBB/FP YOUTHOUTCRY Foundation

FP YOUTHOUTCRY is an acronym for Future Potential that You Transform, Heal, Organize and Understand in Today’s Crusade to Respond to our Youth. The organization known as FP YOUTHOUTCRY Foundation, Inc., is the brainchild of Newark native Al-Tariq Best. The motivation to establish FP YOUTHOUTCRY came after Best and his four young sons witnessed a brutal attack on the streets of Newark. The eldest of his sons, deeply saddened by the event, asked him “What are you going to do about it Dad?” Best’s commitment to “do something” came to fruition in 2006, when he established FP YOUTHOUTCRY Foundation, Inc., a 501c (3) non-profit organization that offers alternative programs and services to youth and families in underserved communities; programs that educate, entertain and empower. FP is a phenomenal organization operating with 3 paid employees and numerous dedicated volunteers from all sectors of the community – professionals, mature workers/senior citizens, community youth, local business and corporate stakeholders, and neighboring college volunteer groups. The organization has experienced great success in program enrollment and participation in events scheduled in all five wards of the city of Newark, NJ. The Resource Center is located at 103 Willie T. Wright Plaza (rear entrance on Court Street). This location has housed all the operational activity for three years now. The space was granted pro-bono as a direct result of their positive influence on the youth and public safety within the community. The organization is hard at work to gather additional support and expand outreach activities and programs to improve youth development opportunities, parental engagement and civic responsibility.
