Cherry Blossom 🌸 Tree Ambassador at Branch Brook Park

Volunteers will assist in the protection and preservation of the renowned collection of Japanese Flowering Cherry Blossom Trees in Essex County Branch Brook Park.

This is a fun and rewarding experience outdoors. Join us during the blooming cycle when the park is buzzing with spectators from all over the world, enjoying the experience and beauty of this historic landscape work of art.

Volunteer Tasks Include

  • Welcome park visitors

  • Provide directions and hand out informational materials as needed.

  • Assist park guests in capturing their special moments on camera. 

  • Speak for the trees and politely ask guests to respect the collection.

  • Speak for the gardens and politely ask guests to be mindful of the gardens.

  • Waivers: There are two for each volunteer and in this paragraph are the links to download both. Adults attending the project, please help us expedite the "day-of-registration" process by printing the Jersey Cares Adult Waiver & Essex County Waiver in advance. Then sign and bring it with you. If you meet the age restriction and are under 18, please have a parent or legal guardian complete the required Jersey Cares Youth Waiver Essex County Waiver and bring them with you to the project. Click the links in this paragraph to download the waiver. 

  • Registration cutoff is 48 hours in advance of each occurrence start time. If you see an open slot less than 48 hours out, you may call the office and speak with Thomas at (973) 969-1189.

  • Groups, max size is 15 people. Please note you must assign a Team Captain who will keep everyone motivated to achieve the goals set for the day. When creating a team in your "My Account" section please provide real names (this is required, no fictitious names please) when registering. Tutorial on creating a team - watch here.

  • Supply water and snacks for yourself and anyone with you.

  • During April, it is typically cold; please dress for the weather. We are outdoors.

  • This is a rain-or-shine project. In the case of dangerous weather, the project may be canceled. Please stay aware of incoming messages regarding updates to the occurrence.

  • After you register, you will be provided the meeting location via an auto-triggered email for the date you registered. Always register first because we are unable to accept anonymous guests.
