Water Distribution in Newark

The Newark Water Coalition is a community of individuals and groups who wanted to put out good information regarding the lead water crisis in the city of Newark. The first meeting of the Newark Water Coalition was on Dec 18th, 2018. Since then, the NWC has given out over 300,000 gallons of water and over 300,000 lbs. of food. NWC has helped communities both locally and internationally. NWC operates 3 water filtration systems in the city of Newark.

Volunteers will help distribute water and food to the community. You will help guide clients through distribution and fill up gallons of clean water to the people of Newark.

NEED-TO-KNOW

• ​Volunteers will be filling up water bottles and gallons to distribute, giving out fresh produce, and helping control the line as clients come in.

• ​ Volunteers will also help with cleaning up and maintaining the office.

• ​Please wear closed-toe shoes and clothes that can get a little dirty.

• It can be hard to find parking on Wilson Ave, so it is recommended that you arrive early.

• ​This is a rain or shine event unless advised

Waivers: All projects have non-negotiable age restrictions that are noted on the upper right side of each project description. If you meet the age restriction but are under 18, please have a parent or legal guardian complete the required youth waiver and bring with you to the project. Adults attending the project can expedite the registration process by printing the adult waiver in advance, sign and bring with you.
