Earth Keepers in Montclair (Brookdale Park Conservancy)

Your time and skills can help the park! We are nothing without volunteers - literally. From our dedicated leadership to those in our community that wish to contribute just an hour or two each year, the success of the Conservancy depends on the generosity of people that voluntarily give their time for the betterment of the park. No experience is necessary and training is provided.

• Rose Garden - help maintains the historic Essex County Rose Garden at Brookdale Park.  

• ​Pollinator Garden - help weed, mulch, and maintain Brookdale Park’s Pollinator Garden. Once an area of overgrown invasive weeds and shrubs, the garden is now registered as an official Monarch Waystation and flourishes with native plants and active wildlife.

• Tree Pruning - help maintain the health and appearance of Brookdale Park’s landscape through rejuvenation pruning. 

• Please arrive on time to fill out a digital waiver upon arrival provided by park staff.

NEED-TO-KNOW

• ​Please be sure bring water and snacks; wear sturdy shoes, a head covering, sunscreen, and tick/bug repellant and  to protect yourself while gardening.

• All projects have non-negotiable age restrictions that are noted on the upper right side of each project description. Children under 18 must have a parent or guardian on site at all times. A Jersey Cares Youth Waiver must be brought to the project.

Waivers: All projects have non-negotiable age restrictions that are noted on the upper right side of each project description. If you meet the age restriction but are under 18, please have a parent or legal guardian complete the required youth waiver and bring with you to the project. Adults attending the project can expedite the registration process by printing the adult waiver in advance, sign and bring with you.
