Grocery Giveaway in Newark
Join in on the fun of Grocery Giveaway for one day or all four days- Monday through Thursday! Unload, sort, pack, and distribute groceries alongside other volunteers to our community neighbors at Newark Emergency Services for Families. If there are any extras, help us store them for the next day. Volunteer hours are flexible upon request.
Each day is focused on but not limited to:
Monday- On Delivery Day volunteers will unload pallets of food, sort, lay out grocery bags, organize, and shelve food items. Tuesday and Wednesday- On Packing Days volunteers will pack groceries for community members to grab-and-go. Thursday- Distribution Day includes greeting and helping community members shop for perishable and nonperishable foods. Orientation Video: Are you new to Jersey Cares? FAQ’s: For answers to our frequently asked questions, please visit the Help section of our website. Waivers: All projects have non-negotiable age restrictions that are noted on the upper right side of each project description. If you meet the age restriction but are under 18, please have a parent or legal guardian complete the required youth waiver and bring with you to the project. Adults attending the project can expedite the registration process by printing the adult waiver in advance, sign and bring with you.
