Voice Technology Summit at NJIT (7 AM to 12 PM)

Greater Newark Convention & Visitors Bureau

We're seeking small teams of volunteers to support a variety of tasks throughout this three-day conference in Newark. The largest voice technology conference of the year is coming to Newark in late July and you can be part of the excitement! (think Alexa and Google Home) 

VOICE is a summit at the forefront of natural language processing. VOICE, sponsored by Amazon Alexa, will be held at New Jersey Institute of Technology from July 24 - 26. #VoiceFirst

Natural language is revolutionizing the way we interact with devices, services, products and one another. VOICE is where the world's top platform providers, brands, agencies, investors, startups, and developers explore the cutting edge of the multi-modal engagement era.

Incentive
You are invited to attend one complimentary breakout session for every volunteer shift completed. If interested, please check the appropriate box during the sign-up process.

Shifts

Need To Know

  • Bring valid identification.
  • Wear jeans and sneakers without holes and we'll provide the t-shirt that must be worn tucked into your pants. 

Volunteer Position & Tasks 
Please sign up for the position and shifts you are able to support. 
 
  • Registration Coordinator
The registration area is VERY BUSY! We need your help getting conference bags ready and organized, and helping check people into the conference. You are their first touchpoint and their experience sets the tone.
 
  • Help Desk Coordinator
You'll be available for attendees and VIPs alike to ask you for assistance.. we'll equip you with what you need to make sure our guests have an awesome experience.
 
  • Production Assistant
We have lots of rooms at NJIT with lots of things happening.. we need your help to make sure that the rooms have what they are supposed to, that the temperature is good, that the speakers, some of whom are some pretty important people, are happy and that everyone can see and hear the content!
 
  • Conference Usher
You all know the area and many know the campus. Help direct attendees and VIPs so they can get around the campus comfortably and QUICKLY! Provide directions, help them understand their maps, get them to where they need to be!
 
  • Expo Coordinator
We have lots of sponsors who will be setting up booths onsite. We need you to make sure these important tech and local companies have everything they need so they can put their best foot forward. You will work closely with folks from NJIT.

Waivers: All projects have non-negotiable age restrictions that are noted on the upper right side of each project description. If you meet the age restriction but are under 18, please have a parent or legal guardian complete the required youth waiver and bring with you to the project. Adults attending the project can expedite the registration process by printing the adult waiver in advance, sign and bring with you.
