Creative Connections in Newark

Forest Hill CR is a young, 28-year-old, Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Newark New jersey. They are extremely supportive of all their residents' wellbeing and each event they host welcomes the entire resident community. Their volunteers become part of the family from day one. They are a small, beautiful site with approximately 120 residents. They offer a variety of daily activities and ask volunteers to lend a hand with a variety of activities.

Volunteers will join families and Forest Hill staff to have fun and socialize with residents. The hope is for all volunteers to create a genuine connection with another person who appreciates the volunteer and the time they are sharing to make their day brighter.

NEED-TO-KNOW

• Court ordered volunteers are prohibited for this opportunity.

• ​Volunteers will support all residents and staff, resident transportation, escort them from room to bingo, and get involved with a 1 to 1 resident program support.

• Please wear comfortable, closed-toed shoes, and dress in casual but covered attire. Nothing tight or revealing.

• ​The parking is located on the main level and on the 2nd-floor parking area up the ramp. The entrance is located adjacent to the main parking lot. Once you enter, get checked in, wear your pass and have security call recreation to let them know you’re coming up.

• The opportunity is indoors so this is a rain or shine opportunity. Be prepared to support the staff and remember to have fun.

Your willingness to serve with a bright smile and a sense of humor is what makes volunteering all the more easier.

Waivers: All projects have non-negotiable age restrictions that are noted on the upper right side of each project description. If you meet the age restriction but are under 18, please have a parent or legal guardian complete the required youth waiver and bring with you to the project. Adults attending the project can expedite the registration process by printing the adult waiver in advance, sign and bring with you.
